2012 Super Bowl

The “show”, known as the Super Bowl XLVI on February 5th will certainly be the full-on annual tradition and spectacle we have come to expect.  The New York Giants and the New England Patriots will go helmet to helmet at 6:30 PM EST for fans all over the world.  Seems everyone could pick a team to cheer for– even if only based on the team color, geography, or because their grandma was born there….  From hard-core fans to the aloof, the Super Bowl  is never over looked. Even those who have no concern about the big game and instead take advantage of it being the best–least crowded time to head to the grocery store. But even then, they know the game is on from the huge Superbowl displays and party platters for sale in aisle 1.

Those who know Roman numerals don’t have to google “what does XLVI mean?”  Which also makes one wonder, why can’t the powers that be use regular numbers like the Academy Awards?  If the “less fancy” Arabic numbers are fancy enough for “The Red Carpet”, surely they must be fancy enough for Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Just a thought.

Anyway, whether it is about the food, the commercials, the party, the refreshments, the half-time entertainment or the actual game–the Superbowl is a darn fun time to, not only be an American, but a football fan.  (Even if you are only a fan for a day.)  So as you head toward the weekend regardless of your level of interest in the big-show enjoy the good stuff surrounding the big event and check out some of these trivia nuggets from our friends over at Answers.com.
